Pimpage!

I've tasted blood (no pun intended)! Making icons is kind of addictive, as my aching neck could tell you.
So I decided to participate here:

There's still the chance to
http://lims-btvs.livejournal.com/95586.html
, but only for a few hours (11 pm ET), and everyone gets a skip point, so you could still participate even if you hadn't an icon for the first challenge!

There's a really, really strong competition, so I won't last long, but that's okay. I just want to take the challenge to do something with pics I haven't chosen myself and make something with it.
*Off to sign up*

It really is addictive, isn't it. Good to have you join the party, the more the merrier! I'm a bit worried about the elimination thing myself, but it's going to be fun to try.

ETA: So you're really going to take part with only a few hours to spare until the deadline? You are so brave!

I worked on the icon today and it is done, I wouldn't have signed up otherwise.
But I can't post it in the comment...What the hell am I doing wrong? I usually posted pics with the picture button above, but there isn't one at the box. Copy and paste doesn't work. How did you do it?

Oh, never mind, I finally found the description how to do it in the profile, and it worked.

What worries me about the elimination thing is to pick someone elses icon to be the least good. That's something I hate to do. Plus - I never can decide. Also, from what I know of those participating, there's not to be expected anything not good! Ah well.

Yeah, I expect it will be really difficult having to vote icons out, and giving a proper motivation for it too. We'll just have to see how it goes!

Oh, what a pity that you've already been eliminated! That must have been so disappointing. To be honest, I agreed with the critiques on your icon, but on the other hand I liked the composition and the text. I didn't think it was among the worst of the bunch.

I hope you'll be trying again next round, and that you'll continue to participate in the voting. And not just because you happened to vote for my icon this round :-) (I'm allowed to say that was my icon now, I think. Anyway, thanks for voting for it!)

Oh, that's okay. I would lie if I told you I wasn't disappointed, but I really hadn't expected more.
I also agreed with the critiques, which is why I overworked it. Just posted the two for comparison...

If I understood it right, there'll be a come back challenge. Maybe I'll try again, we'll see if I'll find the time then.

I'm happy that I voted for yours!

Thank you so much for your words, it really helps that you and satin_red_doll didn't think mine was one of the worst!!! Thanks for telling me again!

Oh, I hope you'll get the chance to redeem yourself in the comeback challenge!

Not only is icon/banner making addictive, it can be very relaxing.

[identity profile] freecat15.livejournal.com 2016-05-22 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, it is. It was my take-my-mind-off thing to go during these last weeks that were otherwise very stressful!

[identity profile] red-satin-doll.livejournal.com 2016-05-23 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
And it's a heck of a way to hone one's skill for procrastination and avoidance of other stuff to a fine art (dishes, laundry, vacuuming, who needs any of it? I've got a banner to finish *lol*)

The fact that you've found this addictive means your artistry will surely grow by leaps and bounds - and you're off to an excellent start!

This is my first time participating in a lims/last icon standing type of comm. The idea of offering constructive criticism and feedback is right up my alley, and yet I'm finding it harder to vote than I anticipated!

[identity profile] freecat15.livejournal.com 2016-05-23 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh!

I'm all for constructive criticism. That's how we learn to get better. Except I'm never so sure I find the right words to not just make it sound like criticism. Without the constructive part, and I'm terribly afraid to accidentally hurt someone's feelings. Which would be a nightmare for me. Oh well.

Also, it's not so easy to give advice if you're a beginner like I am. I just don't know enough about it yet...
But it's very exciting, and I'm really looking forward to the next challenge. I'm curious if I even will have any idea how to meet the conditions...(Like - anything with a circle? I'm out. :D)

Thanks for the praise, again! *still blushes*
