Actually I didn't know you love Xander, but I'm glad to hear you do :-) It's true he can be terribly judgemental, and I can see that Buffy having Spike recover *in her bed* would probably have been a bit too much for him. Still, personally I would have thought (or maybe just hoped) that after the end of S5 / beginning of S6 he would have been a bit more accepting of Spike than this, and also more understanding toward Buffy (more like in Intervention). I suppose it all depends which scenes you take as reference points.
